As a writer in this busy world, it is great to have writing apps that are with you at all times. That way when you have an idea for your WIP you can open the app with your ideas. Instead of having notes all over the place, you can use these writing apps to help organize your thoughts.
I don’t know about you, but having one place to keep my ideas keeps me from having thousands of scrap papers to sort. Or worse yet, losing a good idea in a jumble of notes. Now I know I’ve talked about 5 other writing apps to help you with your writing. So let’s get started on this list of even more writing apps.

This mindmapping app has been a lifesaver for collecting my ideas and thoughts. You start with a central idea and can add as many branches and subbranches until you have everything down.
Now my favorite part of this app is that you’re able to move the branches to where you need them and not just where the app puts them. And you can customize the style of the map with any of their preset themes.
The other great thing about this app, for $9.99 you can unlock pro functionality which allows you so many awesome features. These include syncing between devices, adding images to your map, checkboxes, and so much more.
Personally, I’ve only used the free version, but I would love to check out the paid version in the future.

This next app is a note taking app with some great features. Werdsmith allows you to keep your projects organized into one spot while random ideas are kept in another. It makes finding what you’re looking for super easy.
The app also provides a way to format and section your writing. You can even export it as a PDF or text document.
To take advantage of some of the formatting features and other features this app has to offer, there is a subscription fee of $99.99/year. I only use the free version and it works perfectly for what I currently need it for.

Now this app may not help you organize your ideas, but it is a fun app that I feel needs mentioning. Danger Notes is a productivity app that makes sure you stay focused for a set amount of time.
During the time you set you will write either notes or a part of your WIP. However, if you stop writing for about ten seconds you will lose everything you wrote. This app really helps if you just want to get the writing juices flowing and if you complete your time, you are able to save your work.
Speaking of apps to help with creativity, CreativeWriter uses predictive text to help you create inspiring pieces. I like this app because it allows you to freely select text without stressing over what the next word will be. You can just have fun and enjoy the inspiration that comes from stringing words together.
This app contains a paid version that gives you access to more words for $1.99 a bundle. But I enjoy the free version that still give me enough words to create fun writing pieces.

The last app I’ll be discussing today is called MyStory. It’s a newer app on my phone, but I see it has great potential. If you’re familiar with the writing program, Scrivener, which I’ve discussed the Pros and Cons about in the past, you’ll see many similarities. I think that’s what draws me to this app.
You’re able to create your book and add chapters, sections, character details, and place descriptions. There is even a corkboard option that provides you a way of storing your ideas about a particular scene or chapter all in one place.
There is a paid version for this app, that gives you access to more features, but everything I’ve experienced in the free version as I work on my first draft is plenty.
