Reviews
“The Stranger I Knew is a rather quick, fun, full-of-excitement read to me” Jasmine @ Life of a Simple Reader
“The story itself is entertaining and suspenseful. I was able to guess the identity of the “stranger” fairly easily, especially because of heavy foreshadowing. But the story is suspenseful nonetheless, especially the twist at the end which you’ll never see coming.” Shruti @ This is Lit
“It’s so clever and brilliant and will keep you hooked all the way to the end!” Annie Woods

Backstory
Back when I was a sophomore in high school, I heard about this organization called National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) from a friend. We were both interested in writing, so we decided that we would try our hand at this month-long journey together. Being that I was only 15 at the time, I joined the young-writers program. There I set my goal for the month to be 10,000 words. To me, this seemed like a lot of words.
However, I had started this one before NaNoWriMo. It was a dark and rainy night. I was watching the movie Along Came a Spider. Then an idea came to me. I used the light from the TV to write down my first words to this story. I worked on it for a few days after that, but then I put it to the side. Once the idea of NaNoWriMo came along, I knew I wanted to finish this one. So I did.
Working throughout the month of November, I wrote and wrote to hit my word goal. Now, I also had to type up the first 20 pages because I had handwritten them on a legal pad. I ended that November with a win and a 12,000-word short story.
