I have read all of Jennae Cecelia’s works in the opposite order. Being that I read her most recent one first (Uncaged Wallflower) and her first one last (Bright Minds Empty Souls, today’s review book). But it’s all alright because they all have different underlying topics.
Bright Minds Empty Souls is the first poetry collection Jennae Cecelia self-published. After reading her previous poetry collections Uncaged Wallflower (my review), Uncaged Wallflower Extended Edition (my review), and I Am More Than A Daydream (my review), I knew that I had to pick this one up. Also, if you’re looking for poetry on anxiety, her newest collection, releasing May 2018 I Am More Than My Nightmares looks pretty amazing! I will definitely be ordering it!
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I needed to finish the collection. This poetry collection is a simpler collection from her others, but just as powerful. So let me break it down for you.

Like all of Jennae’s poetry collections, I enjoy the free verse style of her poems. They are simple to read and vary nicely between short and long.
This collection looks into aspects of love, heartbreak, and some anxiety. I found that many of the poems were relatable to me. I liked the empowering feeling that I was left with after reading this collection.
The emotions were raw in this poetry collection. Sometimes you find that you just want to hug Jennae because of how emotional these poems are.
The Cover
Look at that cover! It’s amazing! I love the way the person looks like a cage with a keyhole. It is unique and completely amazing!
Bright Minds Empty Souls is an emotional poetry collection about love and heartbreak. It takes you to the depths of both extremes of loving another person. Although this wasn’t my favorite of Jennae Cecelia’s work, I truly enjoyed the experience of reading it. I look forward to reading more by Jennae Cecelia.
