Character show-and-tell time! It’s a wonderful opportunity when I feel like I can finally share with you a character from my WIP. Now it’s time to share with you a new character.
Although I haven’t been doing too much writing on any of my WIPs, I still want to introduce you to one of the main characters. Lindsey is one of the two main characters of my WIP Speaking the Truth of Family. She is the youngest character I’ve ever written at only 14 years old.
Can you believe it’s been over a year since I shared a character with you all? You can learn more about Chester Green from Split Views (another WIP) if you missed that post.
What I love about Lindsey is her gullible but loving nature. She’s at the best stage for the topics of Speaking the Truth of Family which I think many readers will be able to relate to.
What are Lindsey’s Favorites?
Color: blue
Food: mac & cheese
Drink: Fanta Orange
Animal: wolf
Music: Shawn Mendes
TV Show: Pretty Little Liars
Book: A Monster Calls
Holiday: Easter
Vacation: Never been – her parents were too busy bickering to take her on vacation
Memory: hiking the longest trial in the Poconos with her family

Math Class
With Mr. Morris
And Mandy and Val
I take my assigned seat
A row away from both Mandy and Val
Excessive talking the reason
For our separation
Not that I mind
My mom has been upset
About my low math grade
Now it’s slowly rising
Val calls my name
Right as the bell rings
I look over and she points to her lap
I nod
I look at my lap
My phone lights up
Doesn’t Mr. Morris look good today?
Val texts.
I glance back to her
She winks
I smile
Mr. Morris begins the lesson.
And that my dear readers is Lindsey Holdermann. I hope to be showing you more about Lindsey and her brother in the future. Thanks for reading!

This must be from your verse novel. I love that she’s just 14 and her loves sound just like a 14 year old. I laughed at Mac and cheese and Fanta. I’m not really a fan of verse novels but your snippet intrigued me.
Thanks Dani! This is a project that has been in my heart for a long time and I’m having a lot of fun writing it down. I’m so glad you enjoy this snippet! 😊
Nice snippet! Is your WIP fully in verse? Because that’s amazing! ❤️
This WIP will be fully in verse and I’m super excited to get to write it!
