Social Media Schedulers are a lifesaver that grace all of us bloggers, marketers, and writers. Take one day a week, and you have a full list of content that is ready to go. Doesn’t that sound amazing?!
Well, the thing with social media schedulers is that sometimes it can be overwhelming. Which one do you chose? Do I really want to pay for this service? Are there any other options?
Trust me, I’ve been there. It’s not a fun time stressing about all of these little things, but you want to put your efforts in the right place. That is why I’ve compiled a list of social media schedulers with their pros and cons.
I’ve used all of these schedulers at some point for my blog and writing social media accounts.

Tailwind
Compatible Platforms: Pinterest and Instagram
Tailwind is social media scheduler that works hard to ensure that your content is being seen. I’ve used Tailwind for over 2 years now. It has successfully increased my Pinterest from 100 monthly views to over 100,000 monthly views in that time.
Tailwind has an awesome way of seeing when your viewers are online to see your posts, so that you’ll post at the optimal times of the day. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of the process. It also has its own community that allows for even more people to help support your posts.
What’s fantastic about Tailwind is that if Pinterest or Instagram update their requirements, Tailwind updates as well, so you don’t have to worry about being betrayed by the algorithm.
However, Tailwind is a very expensive scheduler. You pay for each platform individually and the only platforms they offer is for Pinterest and Instagram. But even though the price is up there, you are able to grow easily by scheduling your content on Tailwind.

Planoly
Compatible Platforms: Instagram, Instagram Stories, and Pinterest
Planoly is strictly for crafting content to post on Instagram and Pinterest. Though I haven’t used this scheduling tool for Pinterest, I have used it to post to Instagram.
Planoly is a simple scheduler that is easy to use. It doesn’t take a lot to learn this scheduler, and you can have it set up fairly quick after registering. My favorite feature is that you’re able to schedule multiple photos for a single post which I haven’t found in any social media scheduler so far.
If you don’t plan on posting a lot, the free plan is perfect. You can post 30 times to one account in a month. There are other plans that increase the number of times you can post and the number of accounts, but those can be costly if you’re looking for something cheaper.

Later
Compatible Platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest
Later is a scheduler that reaches all main social media channels. It is an easy to use platform that is free for users on their lowest plan.
I’ve used Later for several months, and still use it from time to time because it Auto-Posts to Instagram which my other scheduler does not (see SmarterQueue below). Later is easy to use and is a convenient schedule if you’re looking for something that is free for multiple platforms
However, Later’s limitation is in the use of photos. In order to post on Later, on any social media channel, you must use a graphic. You are not given the option to use text only which is not something you always want to do especially on Twitter.

SmarterQueue
Compatible Platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Bitly
SmarterQueue is a social media scheduler that can be used for all of the main social media channels. Keep everything all in one place, with this social media scheduler.
I’ve used SmarterQueue on several occasions, and the main reason I’ve gone with another scheduler is because of the price. It’s a fantastic tool that allows you to set your own schedule and customize categories, but the price is very steep if you don’t get it on a discount.
I enjoy that SmarterQueue allows you to create a schedule that works best for you and gives you the option to preset categories that will fill in your timeslots. It’s an all-around good scheduler that allows you to schedule all of your platforms in one place.
However, because SmarterQueue is for almost all social media, there are many more features than other social media schedulers. But after taking some time to learn them, you will be able to schedule everything pretty fast. Another negative is that at the time of this post, SmarterQueue doesn’t have the Auto-Post option available for Instagram, meaning you can have the post prewritten, but you have to go in and post it yourself to Instagram. Other than that, I definitely enjoy using SmarterQueue for my social media scheduling needs.

I’ve used Planoly, but it didn’t last very long. I’ve also used Hootsuite in the past and really should get back into it. Maybe when more energy returns. I might check out Later. I need to be far more dedicated before trying a paid scheduler

I completely understand. It’s only worth the cost if you’re going to consistently use it.
I researched Tailwind and really love the idea of it but the cost is too much for my budget. I use buffer and really love it. I only use the twitter and Instagram schedulers so it works well for me. Thanks for the others. There are so many options.
I agree that Tailwind is very pricey. I have seen it work for my stats on Pinterest but the cost is the reason I have to cancel right now. I definitely need to check out buffer because I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
I use Hootsuite and Buffer for work generally. I am definitely gonna try Planoly for Pinterest. I am all free accounts! Thank you for the recs.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about both of those. But free is usually what I go for cost-wise.
This is a really good list of social media schedulers to use.
I would also like to check out SocialBu as I think it is worth considering for this list.
Thanks! I’ll definitely have to check it out! 😊
