Tainted Lionheart
Author: Christine Weimer
Genre: Poetry
Series: n/a
Publication Date: November 13, 2019
My Rating: 4.5 pens!
Synopsis: Tainted Lionheart is a collection that focuses on the progressive phases of heartache. Broken into three parts, Christine Weimer takes you on a journey through the bruising and brooding of pain- and the process to which we breathe through it. It speaks to a vast audience in representation of the mess-to-mending of heart. It gives voice to those who need to be reminded that it is okay to hurt, and it is okay to be angry but it is imperative that we find our inner-strength so that we may let go, rise, and begin anew.
The compilation of poetry and prose works you through the motions of honing your inner lionheart by understanding that you are brave enough to recognize hurt, work through your fury, and find ways of acceptance. Though life may taint us, we all have a lion, or lioness, within us.

I was immediately captured by the cover of Tainted Lionheart. It is a fantastic representation of what this book is all about.
There are three parts to this collection: Bruising, Brooding, and Breathing. Inside each of these sections are a variety of long and short free verse poems specific to the love process.
Topics: love, heartbreak, cheating, healing
For anyone that has ever loved and been heartbroken, this poetry collection is for you. But it honestly can be for anyone. It has so many amazing poems that are perfect and relatable.
The writing in this poetry collection is fierce. Christine has a way with words that packs a punch with every poem. In part 2, the writing takes on a sarcastic and bitter tone that fits perfectly to the theme of the collection.
Tainted Lionheart is a stellar view in love, heartbreak, and healing. There is so much emotion written by Christine, that it feels as if we’re on this journey with her. This isn’t a light read, but it is a very relatable to anyone that experienced heartbreak in their life. I look forward to what Christine will write next.

This sounds right up your alley Jenn! I like the cover art, it’s very evocative, isn’t it?! The typography though needs some work to look professional. Poetry doesn’t tend to have such dramatic covers, so I hope it helps garner attention.
It was a great poetry collection. I like that the cover sticks out from the normal poetry covers. It really makes it pop. Thanks for commenting! 😊
